Michael K. Goodman

A native of North Tonawanda, Michael, graduated from North Tonawanda Senior High School in 1973. After high school, he went to Niagara County Community College for one year. He went to work at the Exolon Company in Tonawanda and then went to work for Niagara Frontier Services in Buffalo, managing a store on Grand Island. He then left his employment to pursue his dream of being a funeral director by graduating from SUNY at Canton with a degree in Mortuary Science. He moved back to the Buffalo area and served his residency with the Carlton A. Ullrich Funeral Home in Buffalo. He served as a funeral director at Beach-Tuyn Funeral Home, Inc. in Williamsville, when he received word from friends in Canton that the Hammill Funeral Home was for sale. Loving the North Country during college, he knew that Winthrop was the place to raise a family and bought the funeral home in 1982. In 1997, he was a partner in the purchase of the Harris Funeral Home in St. Regis Falls, which became Bassett Funeral Home, became the sole owner in 2007, and changed the name to Hammill Funeral Home.

Michael is married to the former Patricia Truesdell and they have two children, Julia, who is presently serving her residency for funeral director, and a son, Jonathan, who recently graduated from St. Lawrence Central High School.

He is a member of the Brasher Winthrop Volunteer Fire Department, a member and past president of Tri Town Chamber of Commerce, a board member of LBSH Housing Corp. in Brasher Falls, a member and past president of the St. Lawrence County Funeral Directors Association, a member of the New York State Funeral Directors Association, a member of the National Funeral Directors Association.

He enjoys the outdoors and the time with his family.



James M. Sienkiewycz

A native of Brasher Falls, James "Jamie", graduated from Massena High School in 1990. After graduation, he went SUNY at Canton where he obtained his degree in Mortuary Science in 1992. He served his residency with the Hammill Funeral Home. He served as a funeral director with the Burgess Funeral Home, in Hamilton, Earlville, and Shelburne, NY. Although he enjoyed the people of the area, he missed the North Country. In 2007 he was named manager of the Hammill Funeral Home, St. Regis Falls.

Jamie is married to the former Heather L. Young and the have three children, Ben, Bailie, and Elise.

He is a member of the Knights of Columbus Brasher Council 2176; a member of the Massena Kiwanis Club; member of the New York State Funeral Directors Association; member of NYSACCME (New York State Academy of Coroners and Medical examiners and past president of the St. Lawrence County Funeral Directors Association.

On January 1, 2007, He was elected Coroner for St. Lawrence County.

He enjoys spending quality time with his wife, and children.
