May 21, 1935 — January 6, 2023

Eva M. Sharlow, 87, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2023, with her granddaughter, Melissa Cutler, by her side.

She was born in Norfolk to the late Kenneth Ward and Margaret Martin on May 21, 1935.

Before retirement, Eva worked most recently at LBSH Enriched Housing and was a well known bartender in Winthrop at the American Legion, Rufa’s Restaurant and Bar, Snell’s Winthrop Bar, and her beloved Chateau’s Bar.

She is predeceased by her parents, her husband David L. Sharlow, her siblings; Kenneth Ward, Leonard “Mickey” Ward, Donald Ward, Richard Ward, Marvin Ward, Joyce Ward, and Baby Leon Ward; a grandson, Joshua Sharlow, as well as brother and sister-in-laws; Donald Deshane, Lena Ward, Joyce Ward and Josie Ward.

Surviving Eva are her children; Gloria Martin of St. Petersburg, FL, Sandra (Chuck) Miller of Latham, NY, David (Lisa) Mossow of Lubbock, TX, Kenneth Martin of Massena, NY, and David P. Sharlow of North Port, FL; her sister, Doris Deshane; brothers Melvin (Tracy) Ward and Arnold Ward; a sister-in-law, Gloria Ward, and her grandchildren who called her “Nanny;” Malcolm Heagle, Amy Heagle, Melissa (Bray) Cutler, Heidi (Bray) Haggett, Gerald Bray, Brady Despaw, Rob Despaw, Thomas Briggs, Meghan Harrington, and Cameron Sharlow. She also leaves behind a legacy of 12 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild with another on the way.

A graveside service will be held at Bixby Cemetery in the Spring, followed by a Celebration of Life Luncheon in her honor. Arrangements are entrusted to Hammill Funeral Home where memories and words of condolence can be shared at www.hammillfh.com. The family requests that stories and memories of Eva are shared with Melissa to be read during the Spring Service.
