Born on October 26, 1936, in Canton, to the late Carl R. and Jean (Oliver) Ward Sr., he lived a life full of dedication to family and work. He attended Potsdam and Parishville Schools and upon graduating he went right to work.

On August 9, 1958, Carl married Veronica J. Randall at St. Mary's Church in Potsdam. Together, they built a life rich with love and laughter, creating cherished memories. True partners and each other's confidantes throughout their life together Carl and Veronica celebrated 68 years of marriage this past August.

Carl was a dedicated truck driver whose career spanned over several decades, working for esteemed companies such as Bicknell Bros., Dairy Lee, and All State Asphalt. Carls commitment to his work was matched only by his passion for the great outdoors. An avid outdoorsman, he found peace in hunting and fishing, activities that allowed him to connect with nature and enjoy the beauty of the world around him.

He is survived by his wife, Veronica, and their children, Philip Ward of Carthage, Scott Ward of Potsdam, and Penny Vivlamore, of Anchorage AK, his brother, Frederick Ward of Virginia Beach, VA; his grandchildren who Carl took great pride in being a grandfather to, Chris Ward, Abby, and Jessica, and great-grandfather to Plum and Fjord, and his cherished nieces, nephews, cousins and all his extended family and friends.

His legacy will continue through them.

Besides his parents Carl was predeceased by his sister Joan Phillips, his brother Gary Ward and his grandson Nicholas Vivlamore.

In this time of grief, we extend our heartfelt condolences to all who are mourning his passing. Carl's legacy of love, integrity, and resilience will forever be a guiding light for his family and loved ones. His steadfast spirit and industrious nature will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

May he rest in peace.
