Edith R. Mourick

Edith Mourick, 104, passed away surrounded by loved ones on November 22, 2025, at Steuben County Nursing Home in Bath, NY.

Edith was born in St. Regis Falls, NY and attended school in the area. She married Fredrick(Pete) Mourick on March 26, 1942.

Edith and their two children stayed with Pete's grandmother in St. Regis Falls while he was away in the Pacific during WWII. Upon Pete's return from the war, they moved around the North Country quite often following Pete's work.

They spent several years in the Buffalo area, Syracuse, and Stockbridge, Georgia. But they always thought of the North Country in New York as home, and they eventually returned to the St. Regis Falls/Hopkinton area to spend their retirement years. Edith loved shopping at thrift stores, playing bingo, and playing cards with friends and family.

Edith is survived by her daughters Elizabeth Gonzalez of Savona, NY; Alice VanDenLangenberg of North Fort Myers, FL; and son Robert Mourick of Hopkinton, NY; fourteen grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren.

Edith is preceded in death by Frederick Mourick - spouse, Emma Debiew - mother, Henry Debiew - father, Donnie Mourick - son, Deborah Bohanan - daughter, Leona Farmer - sister, Earl Debiew - brother, Letha Parker - sister, Kenneth Debiew - brother, Gary Debiew - brother.

The visitation and service for Edith will be held on 12/6/2025, at 11am until 1pm at Hammill Funeral Home, 146 County Route 5 in St. Regis Falls, NY. Burial will beside her husband in Forest Cemetery in St. Regis Falls.
