Erwin Francis Maxfield

Phoenix. AZ/ Winthrop – The family of Erwin Francis Maxfield is saddened to announce that he has passed away in Phoenix, Arizona on November 26, 2025, at the age of 78. He was born Saranac Lake on February 27, 1947, son of the late Roland and Edith (Yelle) Maxfield. He retired from ALCOA in Massena, where he was a head mechanic, in 2009. As a mechanic, his hobbies involved repairing vehicles and he enjoyed his time in his garage.

He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Robert Arquiett of Brasher Falls, two granddaughters, Jamie and Courtney, four great grandchildren, Bella, Channing, Sawyer and Benjamin, his companion of 7 years, Carol Dodge, one brother, Craig and one sister, Marion. He was predeceased by two brothers, Sonny and Jerry and two sisters, Mystery and Ida Mae.

Following his wishes, his family will honor his life privately.
