Parishville- Mr. Floyd “Sonny” J. Clark, 69, passed away Wednesday March 9, 2016 surrounded by his family and friends in the comfort of his home. Arrangements are entrusted to Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop. Sonny was born on January 10, 1947 in Malone, son of the late Harold E. and Leila M. (Russell) Clark. He graduated from St. Lawrence Central School in 1965. On October 9, 1971, he married Kay Dox, sharing a loving union over 44 years, with a lifetime of friendship and respect. He worked at Kraft Foods in North Lawrence, for over 20 years, along with operating his cattle trucking business. He also worked a short time at Tri Town Packing, operated his own dairy farm, “Clark’s Hillside” and was a self employed butcher. He enjoyed the time spent with his family and friends; going for rides with Kay, listening to country music, stopping at little diners to eat and visiting with the waitresses, hunting, fishing and farming. Sonny was an avid NY Yankees, Chicago Blackhawks and NY Giants fan. He is survived by his wife Kay “Ethel”, two sons, Sonny James Clark and Cory Clark and his wife Jen, Aunt and Uncle Melbourne and Esther Clark of Malone, many dear friends including, Jim and Chris Moulton of Brasher, Pete and Betty Reiter of Winthrop, Paul and Carla Pryce of Madrid (he was especially fond Carla’s BBQ chicken) and Phil and Marcia Phippen of Parishville, and several cousins. He was predeceased by his daughter Shelly Lynn on December 4, 1972. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8. Floyd’s Funeral Service and Celebration of life will be Monday at 11:00am at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sand Hill Cemetery in Dickinson in the spring. Flowers are gratefully declined.
