Brasher Falls – Gary R. Hamilton, 68, passed away Sunday, October 12, 2014 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Center in New Hartford. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop. Gary was born on November 20, 1945 in Massena, son of the late Clifford Earl and Jennine (Chartrand) Hamilton. After he graduated from Massena High School, Gary went to work for ALCOA. He married Leslie Bissonette on November 3, 1979 in Brasher Falls. He retired following 40 years, lastly working as a die corrector and a member of the ALCOA Fire Brigade. In his leisure time, Gary played softball for the ALCOA team, enjoyed golfing, and went on camping trips with their horses for trail rides. He was a proud supporter of Syracuse Orangemen and the Chicago White Sox. His memberships included the ALCOA 25 Year Club and the Center Riding Club. He is survived by his wife, Leslie, four children; Heather Babcock of IN, Jason Hamilton of Massena, Gary Hamilton 2nd of Rome and Sheena Mouldin of Rome; two grandchildren, Ryan M. Engle and Makayla Mouldin; one brother, James and Valerie Hamilton of Amarillo, TX; one niece and nephew, Myra Hamilton and CW Hamilton. Visitation will be at the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop, Monday evening from 6 to 8 and Tuesday from 2 to 4. Memories and condolences can be shared with his family at www.hammillfh.com.
