St. Regis Falls- Mr. Gerald G. Fitzgerald, 70, passed away November 21, 2014 at the Massena Memorial Hospital. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home in St. Regis Falls. Gerald was born in Potsdam on February 4, 1944 to the late John and Rose (Riley) Fitzgerald. He was raised in Malone and graduated from Franklin Academy. Gerald entered the US ARMY in June of 1963, proudly serving his country and earning and honorable discharge in 1966. On December 25, 1982 he married Barbara Darling. Gerald worked construction and was a member of the carpenters union. He was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. When he wasn’t taking in the outdoors he liked to research and explore military history. He is survived by his children: Danielle Fitzgerald of FL., Zachary Fitzgerald of St. Regis Falls, Josh Fitzgerald of PA., and Patrick Fitzgerald of St. Regis Falls, 3 sisters: Carol and Michael Corcoran of Skaneateles, Peggy and David Cox of Dickinson Center, and Patricia Finnegan-Waite of St. Regis Falls, 4 brothers: Richard J. Fitzgerald of Massena, Terrance Fitzgerald of Dickinson Center, John B. Finnegan of St. Regis Falls, and Thomas J. Finnegan of St. Regis Falls. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-6pm at the funeral home. Memories and condolences may be shared with his family at www.hammillfh.com.
