Waddington – Harry B. Searles, 84, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at his home, comforted by his family. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop. Following his wishes, Harry donated his body to science. Graveside services at St. Patrick Cemetery in Brasher Falls, with military honors, will be held Thursday August 30, 2018 at 11 am. Harry was born on February 22, 1933 in Stockholm, son of the late Royal J. and Leila D. (Morrow) Searles and graduated from Brasher Stockholm High School. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He married Sue A. Genaway in Massena on December 12, 1981 with whom he shared 35 years. He worked several places throughout the years, lastly working for Life Science Labs in Waddington. He enjoyed watching his family grow and spending time with the grandchildren. He shared his knowledge of fishing and hunting with them and relaxed reading a good book. Surviving Harry is his wife, Sue, two daughters and sons in law, Lee Ann and William Archer of Claremont, VA and Valerie S. and Steve Delgado of Surry, VA, three step children, Daniel J. Hughes of Malone, Ricky C. Hughes of Ogdensburg and Lori Morrissette of Norwood, two brothers and one sister, Robert M. and Rosemary Searles, Sr. of Malone, Sara S. and Carl Caskinette of Norfolk and Thomas G. and Barbara Searles of Phoenix, AZ, Nine grandchildren, Seven great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents he was also predeceased by his siblings: Edith S.M. Monica, Royal G. Searles, James W. Searles, Kathryn L. Whitman, Shirley A. Parker, Lyndon L. Searles Sr., David K. Searles, Carolyn L. White and William F. Searles.
