We are saddened announce the passing of Jay Paul VanPatten, who left us on March 14, 2026, at the age of 62. Born on July 28, 1963, in Massena, NY, son of the late Claude and Hilda (Mitchell) Van Patten. He graduated from St. Lawrence Central School. He married Deborah Vodron in 1989. Jay was a construction worker and truck driver. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, boating, snowmobiling and motorcycling, where he touched the lives of many.
Jay is survived by his wife, Deborah, his daughters, Nicole Vodron and Samantha King, eight grandchildren, Anita, Emerson, Isabella, Joseph, Olivia, Ariyanna, Blaise and Cadance, three great grandchildren, Aviyanna, Iris, and Harper, three brothers, Nick, Mark and Brad, and many nieces. They shared many wonderful years together, filled with laughter and cherished memories. His absence will be felt deeply by all who knew him.
Family and friends are invited to join in honoring Jay's life and legacy during a gathering on Tuesday,March 31stthat, at Fahrenheits's, 4 Main Street, Massena, NY that will celebrate his spirit and the memories he created with us.
Arrangements are entrusted to Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop, where memories can be shared with his family online at www.hammillfh.com.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to Hammill funeral home to help cover costs to lay Jay to rest.
