Joan Hackney Soucy

Santa Clara - Joan "Joanne" Hackney Soucy, 87, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2023, at CVPH in Plattsburgh. Graveside prayers will be held on Friday, September 22nd at 2 pm at Santa Clara Cemetery in Santa Clara.

Joan was born on October 9, 1935, in Santa Clara, daughter of the late Media and Dorothy (LaBounty) Provost. She married Philip Almekinder in 1953 who predeceased her in 1986 and Vern Hackney in 1990 who predeceased her in 1997. She married Ronald Soucy in 2007.

She prided herself on caring for children and operated a Home Day Care for many years.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald of Santa Clara, her daughter, Kimberly Cole of Morrisonville, two grandsons, Jason and Bryan Cole of Morrisonville, three great grandchildren, Adaline, Theo and Evelyn Cole, and her sister, Jeannie Johnson of Grand George.
