Brasher Falls - John "Jack" Normile, passed away on April 3, 2026, at the age of 97. Born on March 19, 1929, in Ogdensburg, NY, Jack is the son of the late Francis B. and Ann (Mahoney) Normile. He graduated from North Lawrence High School and earned an Associated degree from SUNY at Canton. He served in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953. On June 27, 1953 he married, Joy Andrews at St. Lawrence Church in North Lawrence. They shared a blessed union for over 74 years.
John spent his professional years as a Test Engineer with the New York State Power Authority, retiring in 1991. Those who had the pleasure of knowing John will remember him for his kindness, sharp wit, and the love he had for his family.
He is survived by his cherished wife, Joy Normile; his son, Christian Normile and his wife, Jan of Potsdam; and his daughter, Gayle Boak and her husband, Eric of Winthrop, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, a sister Marie, Kelley of Ogdensburg, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, John in 1978, sisters, Joan Hurley and Eileen Burns and a brother Robert Normile, brothers-in-law, Bernard Burns and Chuck Kelley, and sister-in-law, Joyce Normile.
Following with his wishes, his family will honor his life privately. Those wishing to make a donation in his memory, please consider St. Judes Childrens Hospital or Tri Town Rescue Squad.
