Loren P. DeBuque, a resident of St. Regis Falls, NY, passed away peacefully at the age of 92 at Canton-Potsdam Hospital on March 30, 2026. Born in St. Regis Falls on August 10, 1933, Loren is the son of the late Joseph and Rose (Rumley) DeBuque. He graduated from St. Regis Falls High School and enlisted in the United States Army, serving from May, 1953 to May, 1955. On August 6, 1955, he married Muriel Powell at St. Ann's Chapel, sharing a blessed union until her passing on July 5, 2017.

Loren was a welder at St. Lawrence Gas until his retirement. He was a genuine person, always there to lend a hand without expectation. "Carry On" was one of his common sayings, as his Army years as a boxer instilled toughness in his spirit. He enjoyed fishing and was a faithful blood donor providing that special RH factor he had for others. He was a Boy Scout leader, a member of the St. Regis Falls Fire Department, the SRF Sportmen's Club, the American Legion in SRF, and a union representative for St. Lawrence Gas

He is survived by his three daughters- Jeanne MacDonald of Florida, Tammy Fitzgerald of Dickinson , and Lorna and Dick Lucey of St. Regis Falls, a daughter-in-law, Nancy DeBuque of Bombay, eight grandchildren, Jessica, Dallas MacDonald, Loren Fitzgerald, Adam and Sarah DeBuque, Melissa Lucey and Sarah and Jeremy Goyeau, five great grand children, Jaxon Lucey, Aiden DeBuque, Alison DeBuque, Chase Goyea and Ryker Goyea. Loren was predeceased by a son Gregory DeBuque, two grandsons, Dereck MacDonald and Jonathan Fitzgerald, and a son-in-law, Terrance Fitzgerald.

In honoring Loren's wishes, his family will honor his life privately. Though Loren has left this world, his spirit will live on in the memories and love shared by those who knew him. He will be missed dearly, but his legacy will always remain.
