Margaret L Peck

Winthrop- Margaret Lorraine (Maggie) Peck, 98, formerly of Winthrop, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2015 at Maplewood Campus in Canton with loving family. Arrangements are entrusted to Hammill Funeral Home in St. Regis Falls. Maggie was born in Dickinson Center, to Earl and Ida Hazen on August 5, 1916. She went to school in St. Regis Falls, and graduated in 1934. She worked at Potsdam State University, retiring in 1978 as assistant food service manager. Her hobbies were scrapbooking and sewing as well as hosting cocktail parties for family and friends. Maggie is survived by her son Jerry and daughter-in-law Sandy of Colton, along with her granddaughters and their spouses: Sheryl and Kevin Chapman of Venice, Florida and Jerrianne and David Babowicz, of Marcy. She is also survived by her great grandchildren Ryan, Tayler and Logan Chapman of Venice, FL and Denver, Brooke, Faith and Ethan Babowicz of Marcy, great granddaughter-in-law Brandi Chapman and Great Great Grandchildren Gage Chapman and Braighan McGrath of Potsdam. She is predeceased by her twin sister Marjorie at birth, her brother Lloyd in 1958, her husband, Roland, in 1987 and her great grandson Shane in 2007. In keeping with Maggie’s wishes there will be no funeral or calling hours. A private burial with family at Fairview Cemetery, in Dickinson Center, will be held in May. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley. The Family extends gratitude to Hospice and Maplewood Campus.
