Bangor- Norma E. Parker, 57, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday Nov 16th at the Fletcher-Allen Medical Center in Burlington VT with the love and support of her family. Arrangements have been entrusted with the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop. Norma was born on March 4 1954 in Williston, VT, daughter of the late Calvin and Leona (Garrett) Rushford. She graduated from high school in Enosburg, VT. For some time Norma worked for the Office of the Aging in Brushton. After which, she pursued her career, and earned her Nursing degree from North Country Community College. Norma took pride in her home and cared deeply for her family. On May 29th 1993 she married Steven C. Parker at the Bombay Methodist Church. They shared a devoted union of 18 years. Those who knew and loved Norma would say she enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. Norma was a true animal lover, especially fond of her cats, "Ploomer" and "Buster" to name a few. She enjoyed camping outings with Steve and her family. She took pleasure in knitting, crocheting, and had a knack for "Do It Yourself" shows on TV. She is survived by her husband; Steve, her children; Trudi Burnor and Fred Dashnaw of Massena, Charity and Thomas Shoen of Norfolk, and Joy and Chris Holden of Ft. Covington, 7 grandchildren, Mikayla and Frederick, Sophie and Claire, and Eric, Dylan, and Wyatt, her sisters; Vicky Cantell, Kathy Smith, and Sue Gonyea. Visitation will be Sunday from 1-2 at the Funeral Home, Norma's Funeral Service and Celebration of life will commence at 2pm upon conclusion of visitation with the Rev. Lee Sweeney.
