Dickinson Center – Norma Jean Wiley, 88, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2022, at Canton Potsdam Hospital. Graveside services will be held Friday, October 14th at 2 pm at Fairview Cemetery in Dickinson Center. Family and friends are invited to gather at Norma’s home following the graveside services. Arrangements are entrusted to Hammill Funeral Home.
Norma was born on August 29, 1934, daughter of the late Francis and Pearl (Cantwell) LaPage. She married James F. Wiley on June 2, 1952, at St. Patrick Church in Hogansburg. He predeceased her on August 29, 1997. Norma was a dedicated homemaker, an avid baker, with bread and donuts as her specialty. She enjoyed playing bingo, cards, writing poetry, playing the harmonica, and listening to country music, especially Johnny Cash.
She is survived by her children; Cindy and Steve Middlestate of Watertown, Michael and Larci Wiley of Winthrop, Victor Wiley of Hopkinton Sheila Wiley of Dickinson, Sandy and Melonie Hood of Canastota, grandchildren; Bobby, Donna, Rob, Amanda Victoria, Chad, Sara, Brianna, Reba, Alex and Andrew, nine great grandchildren, her sisters, Janie, Linda, Mary and Susie, her brothers, Wayne, Herve and Gerald, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, James F. Wiley, Jr. on May 19, 1979, two sisters, Evelyn and Betty, and two brothers, Donald and Francis, and a daughter-in-law, Kathy Wiley on March 4, 2022.
