Robert A. Locey

Winthrop - Robert A. Locey, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, peacefully left us on June 2, 2026, at Canton-Potsdam Hospital in Potsdam, NY, at the age of 85. Born on July 5, 1940, in Potsdam, NY, Robert is the son of the late Gordon and Helen (Patraw) Locey, Bob spent a lifetime embodying kindness, warmth, and an unwavering love for his family.

Bob was a family man, he married his cherished Linda E. McClure, on August 15, 1959 at Brookdale Wesleyan Church. Together, they raised their children, Cheryl Strayer, Valerie Beeler, and Kevin Locey, instilling the values of integrity and love. He was also a proud brother to Joyce Wolcott, a father-in-law to Ken Beeler and grandfather to 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Gordon and his sister, Arlene King.

Bob had a particular fondness for the tales of the Wild West, often found immersed in a gripping western novel. He was a man who kept a keen eye on the world, always catching up on the news, and he approached life with a challenge, whether it was doing puzzles or taking pride in mowing his lawn-a task that he approached with the same care and attention he showed to his loved ones.

We invite friends and family to join us in celebrating Bob's life at a memorial service on June 6, 2026, at Knapps Station Community Church in 3035 County Route 47, Norwood, NY, at 12 noon.
