Hopkinton - Sally A. (Judware) Gibson, 83, passed away peacefully at her home on August 26, 2024. She was born on January 30, 1941, in Malone, daughter of the late Lloyd and Gladys (King) Judware. She attended school in St. Regis Falls and St. Lawrence Central. On April 10, 1960, she married Gerald F. Gibson at the Lawrenceville United Methodist Church with Rev. Potter officiating. They were married for 62 years at the time of his passing on October 15, 2022. She attended Nicholville United Methodist Church.
Sally worked at the Tru Stitch Factory in Bombay as a shoe lacer and then became a Home Health Aid, working for Health Services in Potsdam.
She is survived by her children, Kelly DeShaw of Hopkinton, Tammy and Kenny DeShaw of Hopkinton, Kay Gibson of Potsdam, Gerald Gibson, Jr. and Lori Michaud of Hopkinton, Cindy and Burt Chevier of Parishville, 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, five siblings, Linda Dissottle, Donnie Judware, Diana Swary, Patricia Burnett, and Ann Robbins, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one son, James A. Gibson, a son in law, David DeShaw and seven siblings.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 29th from 4 to 6 pm at Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop. A gathering will follow at Fourth Coast Café in Massena.
