Sue was born in Alice Hyde Hospital in Malone on December 26, 1939, the daughter of George and Evelyn (Arquit) Anderson. She was a graduate of St. Lawrence Central School in 1957 and a 1959 graduate of Eastman Dispensary School for Dental Hygienist. She married David Stevens on August 29, 1959 in St. Lawrence Church in North Lawrence. They raised their family and lived their 53 years of marriage in the North Country. Sue is survived by her husband, David; son, Craig and Patricia Stevens; three daughters, Michele and Rodney Truax, Sara and Patrick Lynch, and Monique and Jeffrey Grazen; ten grandchildren, Micah and Bethany Truax, Abigail, Emily, Ian and Eric Lynch, Marcus and Matthew Grazen and Madelaine and Charlie Stevens. Sue is also survived by her sister Kay and Gerald Sutton and sister in law, Lynn Maginn. She was predeceased by her brother, Ronald Anderson. It was this family that made the holidays and birthday parties so special and a joy in her life. “Grammy Sue” was especially known for her laugh and love of family. Sue’s second love was her travel with David. They traveled the Caribbean and visited five continents. These travels were made much more enjoyable in the company of friends and family. Many of the travels were to watch the grandchildren in their various sporting endeavors. Sue was employed by James M. Pellegrino, DDS and worked with the greatest staff in the Massena office for Thirty years. She served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Patrick Church; visited the homebound and served as a volunteer of the Gabriel Project. She also volunteered at Sr. Vincent DePaul and various functions of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary. Memorial contributions in her memory can be made to the Gabriel Project, P. O. Box 208, Brasher Falls, NY 13613, Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley, Inc., 6805 US Hwy 11, Potsdam, NY 1376 or the charity of one’s choice.
