Terry "Twiggy" Truax

Winthrop - Terry L. "Twiggy" Truax, 71, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2025,at RR-Canton-Potsdam Hospital, surrounded by the warmth of family. Born on March 15, 1954, he is the son of the late Robert and Beatrice (Mossow) Truax

Twiggy worked as a yogurt and cottage cheese processor for Kraft in North Lawrence, NY, until he retired, took on other employment for several contractors, and found odd jobs to keep busy. He loved sports and was active in baseball and softball. He was known for his ability to make those around him smile, often sharing stories that brought laughter and camaraderie to his friends and loved ones.

Twiggy is survived by his companion, Cathy Woodward;his sister, Tammy and Jimmy Ryan of Brasher Falls; brother, Jeff Truax and Kris Whitcomb of Massena; sister-in-laws, Michelle Truax and Sheri Truax. He was predeceased by three brothers, Rodney, Tony and Danny. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and a deep appreciation for everyday moments spent with family and friends.

A gathering to celebrate Twiggy's life will be held at the American Legion Post #514 on June 28, 2025, at 1:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to join in remembrance, sharing memories and honoring the impact he made on all who knew him. Following his wishes, there will be no visitation. In this time of reflection and celebration, we remember Twiggy not just for the years he lived, but for the love he shared and the joy he spread. His spirit will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.
