Parishville/Brasher Falls- Mr. Thomas F. Demo Jr. 70, peacefully passed away in the comfort of his home with his wife and two sons at his side on Friday October 17, 2025. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop and following Tom's wishes there will be no public services at this time, and his family will honor his life privately.
Thomas was born on August 15, 1955, in Honesdale, PA to the late Thomas F. and Carol (Cary) Demo Sr. He was a 1973 graduate of Parishville - Hopkinton and on May 25, 1974, he married Darlene Viau.
True companions in life Tom and Darlene built their relationship on a solid foundation of love, hard work, and the importance of family. Their commitment to one another stood the test of time as they celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary earlier this year.
Thomas dedicated many years of his life as a melt technician at General Motors in Massena where he was known for unwavering work ethics. He proudly retired from GM, leaving behind a mark of excellence in the automotive industry.
Over the years working with his skillful hands Tom became an expert in woodworking, metal working, and machining, always finding joy in creating and building.
Beyond his professional achievements, Tom was a true outdoorsman at heart. He reveled in the serenity of ice fishing and the thrill of hunting, often sharing these passions with friends and family. His adventurous spirit led him to travel out west, where he pursued gold metal prospecting, seeking treasures hidden in nature's bounty.
A devoted fan of baseball and football, he held a special place in his heart for the New York Yankees. Yet, above all his hobbies and accomplishments, it was the love of his family and friends that defined Thomas's life.
Tom is survived by his cherished wife, Darlene, who stood by his side through thick and thin; two sons, Thomas 'Tommy' F. Demo III, and his wife Angel of Parishville, and Cory R. Demo of Massena; two brothers, Cary Demo of NJ and Stephen Demo of Maine. He was also a devoted dog grandpa who adored his seven beloved grand pups, Gracie, Rory, Bella, Abby, Yankee, Yogi, and Molly. Tom truly treasured the joy they brought into his life.
