Kenmore - Vincent Charles Neri, 48, "The Last One" entered eternal rest on Sunday, May 26th, 2024, at Kenmore Mercy Hospital, with his wife Jill by his side.
Vince was born in Buffalo on September 2nd, 1975, to the late Angelo and Barbara (Truesdell) Neri. He graduated from West Seneca East Senior High School and continued his education up north at SUNY Canton. He also spent some time throughout his 20's living in N. Carolina, Iowa and Boston while working as an IT Specialist before moving back to the Buffalo area.
On January 8th, 2009, Vin married his best friend, Jill (Horwitz) on the beach in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
It comes as no secret that he was a comic book geek and loved storytelling in all forms. He found solace in live music, his 'church', and ventured to as many concerts and music festivals as he could, often tying in a special concert with whatever travel plans he and Jill had. The highlight of their most epic road trip adventure (driving from Denver to New Mexico to Grand Canyon to Las Vegas) was seeing Blues Traveler at Red Rock Amphitheater. His unique sense of humor and zest brought laughter and joy to many as a 'retired' stand-up comedian.
Vinnie loved his family and friends fiercely and was the best 'furever friend' to Rocco Charles Neri.
He is survived by his wife, Jill; aunts and uncles Marcia Neri, Patricia (Michael) Goodman, Chris (Dana) Truesdell, Loren Horwitz, Deberra Neri, father -in-law Sheldon Horwitz (Beverly Nixon), sisters and brothers-in-law, Amber (Mac) Hartman, Danielle (Jim) Fleckenstein, Todd (Shannon) Nixon and Jenna Horwitz; cousins Justin Neri, Tracey Neri, Charlie Neri, Owen Neri, Jennifer Moody, Gina Dugger, Julia Goodman, Jonathan Goodman and Lennon Shampine; he was "Uncle Vin" to Kiley and Alex Hartman, and Abel, Silas and Rita Fleckenstein; and also survived by many cousins and dear friends.
He has now been joyfully reunited with his family who predeceased him, especially his parents Ang and Barb and his brothers Matthew and Nicholas Neri; mother-in-law Maureen Kirkpatrick; as well as his uncle's Charles Neri, Joseph Neri, Brian Truesdell; aunt Maryann Neri; cousins and forever friends, Jason and Joseph Neri and cousin, Marc Truesdell.
Relatives and friends may visit the LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME (Snyder Chapel) 4614 Main St., near Harlem Rd. on Sunday (June 9) from 12-3 PM for a gathering in Vincent's memory. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Vincent's name to Buffalo Pug and Small Breed Rescue, Inc. or Drains to Ocean.
Vin's warm smile, gentle eyes, quick wit, and compassionate heart will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Peace & Love.
