Bonn, Germany- Mr. Walter S. Wilson, 60, passed away Saturday June 8, 2013 in Germany after his courageous battle with cancer. Walter was born in Massena on May 8, 1953 to the late William and Irene (Finnegan) Wilson. He was raised and educated locally, graduating from St. Lawrence Central School in 1971. Walter enlisted in the US ARMY after graduation and was stationed in Germany where he proudly served his country till 1973. After his honorable discharge he remained abroad and made his home. On December 4, 1974 he married Inge Kersken; their marriage ended in divorce. He then married Marlies Kossmann. Walter worked at a variety of jobs throughout his time in Germany, one of which was at the US Embassy. He is survived by his wife: Marlies, one son: Dennis Wilson and his fiancé Nikola Funke, one step-daughter: Kristine, and one grandson: Nikita, all of Germany, his brothers and sisters: David Wilson and his wife Ellen of Winthrop, Helen Ware of Potsdam, Kathleen Smith of Jacksonville, FL., Joseph Wilson of Sterling, MA., and Michael Wilson of Gardner, MA., and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his brother James Wilson in November of 1998. Walter's Funeral service will be celebrated, Tuesday June 18, at the Stimson Memorial Chapel in Bonn, Germany. There will be a Mass at St. Patrick Church in Brasher Falls in memory of Walter at a later date.
